RMP Lookup for Binghamton ("the extension") shows RateMyProfessors ratings next to instructor names in Binghamton University's class registration tools (Banner and College Scheduler). This policy explains what data the extension handles. In short: it collects nothing about you.
The extension does not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information. That includes your name, B-number, login credentials, schedule, grades, browsing history, and location. It has no analytics, tracking, or advertising, and the developer runs no servers that receive data from it.
When an instructor's name appears on a Banner registration page (ssb.cc.binghamton.edu) or in College Scheduler (binghamton.collegescheduler.com), the extension sends that instructor's name to RateMyProfessors (ratemyprofessors.com) to look up their public rating. Nothing about you is included in that request. RateMyProfessors' handling of requests is covered by its own privacy policy.
The extension saves one value in Chrome's local extension storage: RateMyProfessors' ID for Binghamton University, so it doesn't have to look it up again. Ratings it fetches are cached in memory only and are discarded when the browser closes. Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored.
The extension only reads pages on ssb.cc.binghamton.edu and binghamton.collegescheduler.com, and only the instructor names shown there. It does not run on any other website.
